In a recent online webinar organized by the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP), we had the privilege of hosting an enlightening discussion with Kerry Lambert on March 6, 2024, in Alberta, Canada. The Journey of Advocacy in Westlock
Our distinguished guest, Benita Pederson, an unwavering advocate for individual rights and freedoms, shared her compelling experience with municipal politics and community advocacy. In June 2023, Benita led a campaign opposing the painting of a rainbow crosswalk in Westlock, Alberta. Her actions, including organizing flyer campaigns, rallies, and petitions, served to raise awareness and gather support from the community on this issue. Despite facing significant backlash and accusations of homophobia, Benita and like-minded community members persisted, striving to voice their concerns and opposition to the symbol in a constructive manner.
