If there is a lack of nationalism then where is your provincialism?
In the steps towards autonomy for a province one must first remember who they’re representing – themselves or the betterment of their province as a whole?
Alberta cannot make a case for successful sovereignty without ensuring Albertans are on board and devotedly Albertan in their day to day lives. Alberta flags flying in the wind, bumper stickers ignoring the guy in Ottawa because they celebrate the province we so proudly call home.
Keeping in mind that sovereignty is the first step towards independence from federal overreach.
Albertans must first connect themselves to the way of the everyday Albertan — rough, rugged, hard working, resilient, resourceful, innovative, and committed to the wellbeing of the community. Sovereign in their own spaces and connected in their communities to build strong regions committed to the persistent success of Alberta.
The values upon which the province was built. Big dreams, raw land and a lot of hard work knowing that by coming together on shared interests, respectful disagreements and collaboration towards the most prosperous opportunity for all.
Albertans are being called to make a big decision – continue down this pathway of federal overreach, exorbitant taxation, pathetic health care and “hall monitor” policing or to bravely step forward into their own sovereignty as a province, much like Quebec (hopefully better) and to confidently say “No” to the things that do not make sense for Alberta.
Ask yourself, “Is this good for Alberta?” and then ask again “How can this make Alberta Great?”
These are questions that every single Albertan should be asking themselves from this moment forward.
It isn’t necessarily a question of who the current leader is. It’s a question of how can we, the people of Alberta, ensure we step forward to the greatness we have already exhibited – but better as we look towards a bright future ahead.
That’s why we are working hard to build the foundation first with a “Sovereignty First” mission. It doesn’t matter who the Premier is.
- What matters – Is the Premier the most committed and capable to assist in these steps forward?
- What matters – Is the Premier the best possible person right now, for this moment in time?
- What matters – Are the desires for Sovereignty from Albertans heard and enacted upon?
This road to sovereignty could take two terms of leadership so we need to build a strong enough case for the foundations of Sovereignty (see the road map) to be set straight, put into practice and worked on so we can then ask “what can be even better for Alberta?”
The Alberta Prosperity Project are not paid supporters of the UCP party nor Danielle Smith but we see her vision, understand some moves have to be made first before showing all the cards, and when we ask WHO ELSE? We come up with crickets.
When we speak to citizens of other provinces, we are reminded of what we have as a leader – pragmatic, forward thinking and unafraid to set boundaries or make waves for the greater good of the Albertan and future generations. She’s strategic, understands game theory and clearly has read and understood “The Art of War”.
So as you enter into the UCP AGM this weekend (November 2 and 3) or have these discussions with friends and colleagues we encourage you to ask 3 things:
- Are you committed to your sense of Provincialism? Will you fly your Alberta flag high?
- If not Danielle, then who? And why?
- Are you allowing external fodder from angry and emotional groups sway your decision or are you voting in full alignment with your core values and a vision for the future of Alberta?
It’s a matter of Alberta first thinking, an ideal that was so strong in the late 80s early 90s and it’s time we return back to that. Strengthen our homes, communities and our province in the process of sovereignty first. When that process is successful, and it will be, then we can ask “What’s Next?”
