Historic ‘I Am Alberta’ Rally Draws Estimates of 10,000 to 20,000, Ignites Unstoppable Momentum for Sovereignty – “Come on, Let’s Go!”

by Shawn Alain

EDMONTON, AB – An estimated 10,000 to 20,000 proud Albertans from all corners of the province converged on the Legislature Grounds on October 25 for the “I Am Alberta: Rise Up Alberta Rally.” Many arrived via chartered buses, with tickets sold by the Alberta Prosperity Project—routes that quickly sold out, prompting us to charter even more to meet the overwhelming demand. Under a crisp autumn sky, the massive crowd waved Alberta flags, chanted #IAmAlberta, rejected federal overreach, and issued a resounding call for independence. This event marked the largest rally in Alberta sovereignty history, with one sheriff on-site estimating 20,000 in attendance after an APP organizer inquired.

Independent breakdowns, including aerial analysis and crowd density mapping by Unacceptable Fringe (available here), support estimates ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 in physical attendance. The event’s reach exploded online, with over 70,000 viewers tuning into livestreams:

  • Unacceptable Fringe: 42,000 viewers
  • Rebel News: 19,000 viewers
  • FreedomCalendar.net: 6,100 viewers
  • Tommy Temper: 2,800 viewers

“This wasn’t a protest – it was a declaration of self-determination,” said Mitch Sylvestre, CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP). “Albertans showed up in force to expose the federal gun amnesty scam, UCP delays on protecting our rights, and Ottawa’s relentless exploitation. From equalization theft to censorship threats, we’ve had enough. Today, we united to demand sovereignty – and Ottawa, take note: the path to an independent Alberta is unstoppable.”

The rally kicked off with a powerful prayer led by Minister Jeff Goodterham, invoking divine protection for Alberta’s families, land, and pursuit of righteousness amid federal tyranny. Emceed by John Bolton, the event pulsed with energy: crowd-wide chants of “I Am Alberta,” and fiery speeches blasting 120 years of colonial subjugation.

Key Highlights:

  • Dr. Dennis Modry, cardiothoracic surgeon and APP Founding Chair, framed sovereignty as “the highest expression of ultimate power and control” – pragmatic freedom from economic persecution, medical mandates, and regulatory chains. He urged a spring 2026 referendum on the clear question: “Do you agree that Alberta shall become a sovereign country?”
  • Tanya Clemens, farmer, educator, and mother, shared a heartfelt lens on federal assaults on property rights (e.g., Bill C-293) and agriculture (e.g., canola tariffs devastating our $15B+ industry). “We’ve tried for 120 years to fix Confederation from within – Ottawa’s answer is always ‘no.’ A sovereignty vote unites us, negotiating from strength for faith, family, and freedom.”
  • Derek Smith of Unacceptable Fringe rallied the crowd: “Ottawa’s scandals, theft, and lies have broken the promise of Alberta opportunity. This vote is our golden ticket – for our kids’ homes, jobs, and prosperity. We are Alberta. We will be free.”
  • Keith Wilson, top constitutional lawyer, warned of dystopian policies like emissions caps and censorship (Bill C-9), emphasizing the Clarity Act’s legal pathway: “This referendum gives every Albertan more power than any federal vote. Fight for our kids – 1.8 million ‘yes’ votes in 2026.”
  • Chris Scott, Whistle Stop Cafe owner and freedom advocate, called for sacrifice: “We’ve seen pastors arrested and businesses crushed for serving food. Alberta’s independence isn’t selfish – it’s our duty to blaze a trail for truth, justice, and global inspiration.”
  • Mitch Sylvestre spotlighted the rally’s origins in UCP gun rights betrayals, launching the battle cry “Come on, let’s go!” to mobilize 10 volunteer days per supporter.
  • Jeff Rath, constitutional lawyer and APP General Counsel, revealed U.S. enthusiasm for Alberta’s independence (not 51st-state status) and demanded UCP members pack the November AGM to elect 100% pro-sovereignty leadership. “We send $70B yearly to Ottawa – keep it home for our families, First Nations, and future.”

APP continues to collect pledges for immediate updates and information sharing once the petition is approved and the referendum is called all  while swag sales keep spirits high. This groundswell propels APP’s November court battle to secure our referendum, empowering Albertans to reclaim control over resources, taxes (slashing to 5-8% max), and rights enshrined in a new constitution rooted in Judeo-Christian values.

As Dr. Modry asked: If Alberta were sovereign today, would we join Canada under current terms? No – and it’s time our government acts on that moral imperative.
